eco - Verband der deutschen Internetwirtschaft e.V.
eco see themselves as lobbyists and promoters of all companies working with the Internet – such as service providers (ISPs) or companies or institutions maintaining a web presence. With the creation of the ICTF ( InternetContentTaskForce) and the FSM (“Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Multimedia-Diensteanbieter”), eco has been actively involved in the establishment and development of self-regulating institutions of the industry since 1998.
At the Entertainment Convention, eco provides information on trends and tendencies of Web 2.0, which will also be relevant to the end consumer.

• 1995 foundation of the association in Bonn
• Since 1996 organisation and management of the German Commercial Internet Exchange DE-CIX (Frankfurt) as one of the most important nodes worldwide
• 1997 co-founder and board member of the Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Multimedia-Anbieter (FSM)
• 1998 co-founder of umbrella organisations Electronic Commerce Europe, EuroISPA and EURO-IX
• Since 2004 operator of the internet complaints office, in cooperation with FSM
• Since 2005 professional inspection and evaluation of data centres with Data Center Star Audit
• Since 2005 operation of Certified Senders Alliance, a white list project for bulk email senders, in cooperation with the German Dialogmarketing Verband e.V. (DDV)
• Board member of Euro-IX and INHOPE, member in MAAWG
• Regular participation in the meetings of ICANN, IGF and RIPE

• More than 60 independent events annually, with more than 3000 visitors: eco Congress, LocalTalks, PollTalks, etc.
• Presentation of the eco Internet Awards in the course of the eco Gala
• Since 2003 organisation of the anti-spam congress
